First Look: 2021 Volkswagen ID.4

We learned a little more today about Volkswagen’s all-electric compact SUV, but there are still two fairly significant unknowns.

What we do know is the 2021 ID.4 will be available in Canada next summer, and will come in rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions, the latter of which boasts 302 horsepower and a zero to 100 km/h time of under 6 seconds. The rear-wheel-drive model has 201 hp and a zero to 100 km/h time of just under eight seconds.

In terms of trims there are two: standard and the so-called Statement package, which adds things like massage and memory leatherette front seats, panoramic glass roof, a power tailgate and 20-inch alloy wheels.
