Honda’s adorable EV concept takes a step closer to production
The Honda e Prototype is as cute as a button, and packs a driving range of 200 kilometres on a single charge.
What is it? The Honda e Prototype gives a sneak peek of the production model evolved from 2017 Urban EV concept — which debuted to rave reviews. The e Prototype is as cute as a button, with its wide and purposeful stance, and a clear focus on functionality. However, it arrives with a twist: Unlike most of Honda’s recent passenger cars, the e Prototype is based on a rear-wheel-drive platform. Inside, the light and airy feel is almost lounge-like and it’s festooned with digital displays, including two for the left- and right-wing mirror views.
Why does it matter? While Honda did not reveal any powertrain numbers, it did say that e Prototype will deliver a driving range of over 200 kilometres and it will have a fast-charge capability, putting an 80 per cent charge into the battery in 30 minutes.
