Two new Volkswagen products debut at the 2024's Montreal Electric Vehicle Show
For its 7th edition, which will take place at the Olympic Stadium from April 19 to 21, 2024, the Montreal Electric Vehicle Show (MEVS) will introduce visitors to more than 60 electrified models representing 23 automobile brands, record numbers for the event.
Two new products not to be missed, presented for the first time in Quebec, will come from Volkswagen, in this case the ID van. Buzz with three rows of seats as well as the ID.7 sedan. Here's a little more about them before you head there.
Volkswagen ID.Buzz 2025
Last year, the MEVS hosted the ID. Two-row Buzz, exclusive to the European market. This time it is the configuration stretched by about 25 cm which will be released in North America around the middle of 2024 as a 2025 model. It is still about 30 cm shorter than conventional vans on the market , but as is often the case with electric vehicles, its wheelbase (3.24 meters) is far greater.
The third row folds flat, and the second-row bench seat can be replaced with optional captain's chairs. Access is facilitated by the two electrically operated sliding doors. The same goes for the trunk thanks to the assisted opening of the gigantic rear hatch. Above is the largest panoramic roof ever offered by the German brand.
On the technical side, the ID. Buzz is based on the same MEB platform as the ID.4 crossover. The single-motor variant develops 282 horsepower, while the dual-motor, all-wheel drive variant delivers a total of 330 horsepower. The battery that powers them has a capacity of 91 kWh (of which 86 kWh is usable), but note that the autonomy for Canada has not yet been announced at the time of writing these lines. Those who are already planning sunny trips are impatiently waiting for it!
Finally, in terms of security, the ID. Buzz is equipped with a wide range of driving aids grouped in the IQ suite. Drive. Features like Lane Keep Assist and Traffic Sign Recognition come standard, while Head-Up Display, 360-degree View and Park Assist with Remote Parking System are available .
Volkswagen ID.7 2025
For its part, the ID.7 intermediate sedan, just under five meters long, is intended to be in some way the electric spiritual heir of the defunct Passat. It will be produced in China as well as at the German factory in Emden, the latter of which will serve the European and North American markets.
