Kia's first 'EV Day' promises 15 new electrics due before 2027

Kia mid-October held its first “EV Day” to show its electric-vehicle charge continues unabated. The launch of the EV9, which will hit Canadian roads by the end of this year, will be followed by the compact EV5, which is based on Kia’s E-GMP dedicated electric platform and takes many of its styling cues from its larger sibling.

At this point, the official word is it is being “considered” for Canada — it should arrive late 2025. Other outlets report that, conversely, it almost certainly won’t make it to the U.S. market, where it wouldn’t qualify for full government-sponsored EV incentives since its battery is built abroad.

Further out, the growing range will be joined by the Soul-sized EV3 crossover and the “Opposites United” EV4 — it’s part sedan, part coupe, and funky all the way. These new products are part of an ambitious plan that will put 15 new electric vehicles on the road by 2027.
