The Arrow Project present at the MEVS
Canadian SUV concept, the Arrow Project will be presented on the Facto booth at the Montreal Electric Vehicle Show. The Facto company has pulled off a masterstroke by allowing visitors to the MEVS to be able to use this concept.
This vehicle is a collaboration of nearly sixty suppliers in Canada and overseen by the Automobile Parts Manufacturers Association (APMA). It was named in honor of the 1950s Canadian Avro Arrow fighter aircraft.
The Government of Quebec is also financially involved in the project by granting $1.4 million over 18 months to small and medium-sized businesses to manufacture the components and systems necessary for its operation. This money was in addition to the $5 million granted by the federal government and $1.8 million from Ontario.
A few companies from La belle province answered the call. For example, Fastco (Vaudreuil-Dorion) created the propeller-shaped wheels, which are just as unique as the rest of the vehicle. Leddartech (Quebec) provides the technology that supports the five cameras, four radars and two lidars, devices that together will enable Level 3 autonomous driving.
