Rolls-Royce unveils Spectre, its first electric motor car

In 1900, Rolls-Royce co-founder Charles Rolls predicted an electric future for the motor car. After driving an EV called the Columbia Electric Carriage, he said, “The electric car is perfectly noiseless and clean.

There is no smell or vibration. They should become very useful when fixed charging stations can be arranged.”

It took a while, but his company now says it’s ready to fulfil his prophecy and produce its first EV. In September 2021, the marque commenced testing of Spectre. Now the company says Spectre will reach the  market in the fourth quarter of 2023. By the end of 2030, the luxury marque plans to make its entire product portfolio fully electric.
