Ford F-150 Lightning offers more power, range than first thought

Typically, automakers tend to overstate the capabilities of their new, upcoming vehicles, but Ford has just announced the numbers it’d promised the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning would deliver have, now that production’s underway, been readjusted to reflect its even-better capabilities.

First off, Lightnings equipped with the extended-range battery pack will top out at 580 horsepower, up from the original estimate of 563 horsepower.

Meanwhile, the standard-range battery pack has a power output of 452 hp, or 26 more ponies than first reported. Both packs are capable of producing 775 lb-ft of torque, the most ever in the long and storied history of the F-150 model line-up.
