ECOSPHERE will present the Green Tech Festival in April 2022

It is with great enthusiasm that the ECOSPHERE team announces the very first edition of the Green Tech Festival, from April 22 to 24, 2022, presented in collaboration with the Montreal Electric Vehicle Show. This event will bring together a host of green experts and companies under one roof at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal.

In order to attract a wider range of visitors, ECOSPHERE will simultaneously produce a virtual fair that will present the best moments of the festival as well as conferences from Earth Day Canada, which is also partnering with ECOSPHERE for the virtual portion of the event.

Industry Day: Friday, April 22

The first day of the festival will be dedicated to businesses and industries. It will offer an exclusive networking platform for entrepreneurs and will allow them to seize business opportunities by benefiting from the presence of several organizations in ecological transition, such as Énergie Solaire Québec. This first day of the festival will also be open to the general public.

Luc Sirois, Quebec's Chief Innovator and strategic advisor to Quebec's Minister of Economy and Innovation, will join this industry day as a featured speaker. Several other conferences and expert panels will be offered, including the panel on green hydrogen, the panel on residential solar energy, and the panel on green building. The complete schedule of conferences is available on the website. Moreover, there is still time for companies to register, either to exhibit or to give a conference on one of the many themes visited during the festival.

A collaboration that will make innovation shine

Certainly a collaboration not to be missed between the Electric Vehicle Show, Earth Day and ECOSPHERE, the Green Tech Festival will be an opportunity for a wide profile of visitors to discover new concepts or to deepen their knowledge through the many booths. A lot of advances will be presented in the fields of renewable energies, biofuels, circular economy, green building and ecodesign.

About thirty exhibitors will be present and will be enthusiastic to exchange with visitors, such as Taxelco, an electric cab company in Montreal. In addition, a mini-home adapted for people with reduced mobility and their caregivers, designed by miNid and Atelier du VR RM, will be open for on-site visits. Between 25,000 and 30,000 visitors are expected to attend the festival, in addition to spectators who will take part in the event online via the virtual fair.

A hybrid format to reach a wider audience

This large-scale event will adopt a hybrid format, i.e. it will be presented both in person and virtually. The virtual broadcast will present conferences and workshops on the web via a platform and Facebook Live and Zoom videos. The concept has been thought to be bigger by inviting companies and citizens at national and international level to join the event. Thanks to the precious support of international media partners such as Novethic, ECOSPHERE aims to expand the reach of this new festival beyond Canadian borders.

Invited by Solutions Otonomi (Booth F51), the group Jeunes Engagés pour le Développement Durable (JEDD) will record their popular podcast, Jedd Le Podcast, with renowned guests on site. The first episode will discuss renewable energy with two guests: Floréal Villanova and Théo Germain, founders of Solutions Otonomi and specialists in photovoltaic energy. The recorded episodes will be available online after the event. The Green Tech Festival, Solutions Otonomi and Jeunes Engagés pour le Développement Durable have decided to join forces to educate, gather and mobilize the population through the voice of youth. The expertise of each will allow us to explore the energy transition as well as the possibilities for everyone to do their part in creating a sustainable and equitable future for all.
