Toyota surprise-reveals room full of 15 EV concepts
Toyota wants to help you keep your options open when it comes to battery electric vehicles. This was the message Toyota president Akio Toyoda kept returning to during a media presentation on the company’s BEV strategy today.
The brand chief outlined “a reachable future just around the corner” for Toyota and Lexus as he stood in front of a fleet of 15 new electric vehicle concepts, representing fully half of the automaker’s 30 new models slated to arrive by 2030.
The bZ “beyond zero” series was front and centre, set as it is to lead the charge to the brand’s plans to produce 3.5 million BEVs per year by 2030. The Subaru-collab bZ4X is prepared to launch in 2022, the first of seven promised bZ-brand vehicles.
